A fast coupling model, graded by outside solvers: the lab’s exact wording

The lab’s own sentences and figures for this result, word for word, in its working terms, with its limits in plain words where the lab’s text cannot be reprinted. The plain account is on the result’s page; it says the same things in plain words.

The lab’s plain-English sentence

The lab checked its fast predictor of electrical coupling between vertical metal connections in a chip package against two outside physics programs it did not write, and on every sampled set of layouts the predictor came closer to those programs than the usual add-it-up-pair-by-pair shortcut

  • for the charge-storage (capacitance) part of the coupling only, and only for the predictor's mutual-coupling numbers

[Plain gloss: the lab’s “many-body operator” is its fast model. “Pairwise superposition”, and “the usual add-it-up-pair-by-pair shortcut” in the sentence above, are the lab’s own pair-by-pair sum, a baseline the lab defined; its records say full-wave field solvers do not use it.]

The lab’s predictor against its own pair-by-pair sum, in the lab’s words

the many-body operator beats pairwise superposition on every sampled population measured

The limit to read first, in the lab’s words

The anchored quantity is CAPACITANCE only

How much of the outside solvers’ disagreement is measured

Only 19.2% of the log gap is measured

Claim

Against FastCap 3D-BEM and Palace 3D-FEM ELECTROSTATICS — solvers Genesis does not own — the many-body operator beats pairwise superposition on every sampled population measured, and the two anchors' disagreement about absolute BEM accuracy is decomposed rather than reconciled away. The anchored quantity is CAPACITANCE only: inductance stays the owned 2-D BEM because the FastHenry multi-via deck returns a non-finite matrix, so the truth here is electrostatic-plus-owned-inductance hybrid, not a full-wave anchor. Each population and the reconciliation carries its own command.

Part of the lab’s record (limits) is not reprinted here because it names internal files this site does not publish or uses internal working terms.

How we show numbers

Every number on this site links to the file it comes from. How each result is checked

  • We never show a number before its file has loaded.
  • A question we have not checked yet is marked as unchecked.
  • A check that found nothing says so.
  • A file with no value for a question says so.
  • A number whose file is missing or has changed is not shown.
  • Two files that disagree about what a number describes are both flagged.
  • A number from too few samples shows its sample size.
  • Two files that give different values are both shown.
  • A file we cannot publish is listed by its fingerprint only.
  • A measurement more than a week old shows its age.
  • A question that does not apply to a page is left off it.
  • A measurement whose program failed is shown as failed.
